Camping Teds Beach Lake Pedder
Teds Beach campground, Lake Pedder Southwest National Park Tasmania is accessible via the sealed Gordon River road near the small town of Strathgordon. No fees apply to camp at Teds Beach, but you must have a current Tasmanian National Parks Pass to access this area. There is a boat ramp, basic toilets, non-treated drinking water, picnic facilities, free electric barbecues, shelter. Campers must use fuel stoves only. There is caravan access, and the site is suitable for camper trailers, campervans and small motorhomes. There is a camper self-registration system in operation. Ted’s Beach Campground is situated on the edge of Lake Pedder and is some 3 kilometres from Strathgordon, at the north-western end of beautiful Lake Pedder. An upper section is mostly level but doesn’t have lake views; the remainder of the campground has varying views over the lake but is sloped. NO DOGS are allowed in National Parks, Camping Tasmania, meaning no dogs are allowed at Teds Beach Campground. Please note there is no mobile phone coverage in the part of Tasmania. There is spectacular mountain scenery all around and the spectacular Gordon Dam, which is located just 15 km away. However, most people camping at Lake Pedder chose to camp near the lake. Lake Pedder offers truly world-class trout-fishing, with the lake very popular during trout season. The trout season operates from the first Saturday in August to the Sunday nearest the 30th April.
