Lake Meadowbank is located off the A10 highway, app. 7.5 kilometres south of Ouse, and an equal distance north of Hamilton. Take the right turn into the C608 when heading from Ouse. Travel a distance of app. 1 kilometre where you will come to a small picnic area located adjacent to the boat ramp, where you will also find public toilets. The campsites Lake Meadowbank are for a maximum stay of 7 days. Please note there are limited facilities only; bring your own fuel stove, water, and food. Lake Meadowbank, Craigbourne Dam and Bradys Lake are all stocked with fish, which are donated by three salmon companies in Tasmania from surplus breeding stock. To camp in this area, you must be largely self-sufficient. Lake Meadowbank is the most downstream lake in a chain of hydroelectric facilities in southern Tasmania. It is a popular destination for recreational activities including boating, water skiing, canoeing, swimming, fishing, and camping. Lake Meadowbank is located a short drive from the major township of New Norfolk. Lake Meadowbank can easily accommodate large caravans, campervans and motorhomes. There’s a launching ramp close by on the eastern side of Dunrobin Bridge, where water skiers and other recreational lake users launch their boats. You can cross the bridge and after a further 1 kilometre, you will find a gateway on the right, where you will find a small area near toilets. Follow the track further down to the lake where you will find a picnic shelter. This campground is popular for fishing and water skiing.
