Collinsvale Campsite

A small, quiet hosted campsite in front of the owners’ house in the mountains at Collinsvale, just 15-20 minutes from Glenorchy. Campfires are allowed with wood provided, there’s a waterfall trail nearby, and a walk to the ridge gives views over the Derwent River and Mount Wellington. Being at elevation, winter visitors may occasionally wake up to snow.

Collinsvale is vestled in a lush valley roughly 18 kilometres northwest of Hobart, Collinsvale is a quiet, semi-rural village surrounded by tall eucalypt forests and rugged hills. Originally named Bismarck after German settlers arrived in the 1870s, the town was renamed Collinsvale during World War I. Today, it offers a peaceful, nature-focused lifestyle close to Wellington Park.
