Camping Hobart, campground Hobart Showgrounds is the closest camping ground to Hobart and is located in the Northern Suburbs suburb of Glenorchy, and just 15 minutes drive north of Hobart CBD. Public transport is only a 2-minute walk away, and all pets are welcome. There are a number of locations where you can set up your tent, campervan, caravan, motorhome, or camper-trailer. Bookings now must be made online or via the office during business hours. App. prices are $25 per night for an unpowered site, $26 per night for self-contained vehicles. $30 per night for a powered site and water and $35 for a powered site with water sullage. Please note the Hobart Showgrounds camping area is closed annually during the Royal Hobart Show, which takes place in the 3rd week in October. This campground near Hobart is ideally located and within walking distance of medical facilities, major retailers, restaurants, a Village Cinema complex, library, swimming pool, internet café, and numerous other activities. The Hobart campground is located within easy reach of major Hobart attractions including MONA, the Royal Hobart Botanical Gardens, Salamanca Market, River Cruises, Cascade Brewery Tours, day trips to Tahune Airwalk, Derwent Valley, Richmond, the Coal River Wine Region, the Derwent Valley, Coal Valley, and Port Arthur.
