Little Beach Camping
Little Beach campground Chain of Lagoons St Marys East Coast Tasmania, free camping Scamander Lagoons Beach. Little Beach camping has very basic facilities, and campers must be fully self-sufficient. There are no costs and no bookings are possible. The Little Beach camping area is suitable to tent based camping and camping in big rigs. However, please note the campsite is subject to flash flooding and the access road and campsites can get very muddy. This is a great location immediately next to the beach and is popular for fishing, surfing, and other water activities. The Little Beach Conservation Area free campground is east of the township of St. Mary’s, you will find access to this free camping site off the main highway A3 to the North and to the South of the junction with the A4 highway that leads to St Mary’s. Little Beach State Reserve covers an area of app. 950 hectares. Little Beach is located app. 6 kilometres south of Ironhouse Point, which is popular for surfing. The beach lies in a small valley at the mouth of Little Beach Creek. The beach is app. 200 m long and is bordered by granite rocks – waves average over around 1 metre, and there are occasionally good surf breaks over the rocks at either end of the beach.
