Camping Little Swanport
Camping not permitted, day use area only. Little Swanport day use area, in the Little Swanport Conservation area, is only small, and located at the northern end of the bridge that crosses the Little Swanport River, on the banks of the little Swanport River on the Tasman Highway North of the small East Coast towns of Triabunna and Orford, and south of Swansea. The Little Swanport day use area is not suitable for camping. There are no facilities at Little Swanport camping area, no toilets, no water and no rubbish bins. Day use visitors will need to be fully self-sufficient. The Little Swanport rest area is a popular day-use area for people who fish from the banks of the Little Swanport River, or who simply enjoy the area for a picnic. Please note that swimming is not recommended due to bacteria levels in the water. Little Swanport is a small settlement, located north of the popular East Coast fishing and holiday town of Orford. Orford is a small coastal town situated on the east coast of Tasmania, app. 75 kilometres north-east of Hobart. As at the 2006 census, Orford had a population of less than 600 permanent residents.
