Tasmania offers a great variety of free and paid campgrounds to suit all tastes and styles of camping. You can camp near amazing beaches, in the central highlands near some of the world’s best trout fishing waterways, in National Park and all places in between. Camp on the West Coast, East Coast in the south on Bruny Island or the Tasman Peninsula and in some spectacular North and North-West locations such as Waterhouse Reserve. You can camp in tents, in your campervan or motorhome or camper trailer.

Increasingly, however, there are also a growing number of people opening up their own private properties to a large range of different camping style. We’ve compiled a list of private camping Tasmania options, and that are growing all the time – check back regularly to see if new options have been added.
