Camping Lilydale Falls
Lilydale Falls is a great, small free camping area located app. 25 kilometres northeast of Tasmania’s largest northern city, Launceston on the B81 Highway. The Lilydale Falls are located just a short walk from the campground, and well worth a visit to both sets of falls. There is a maximum 2-night stay at the Lilydale Falls Reserve Campground. This campground is suitable for smaller campervans, caravans, and camper trailers as well as tent-based camping. The Lilydale Falls Campground has signposted access some. 2.5 kilometres north of Lilydale on the B1 highway. In 1923 the Lilydale Council was granted a 99-year lease over some 40 acres of land that includes the Lilydale Falls Reserve. The reserve is also a popular picnic area for day use. A short easy walk from the campsite takes you to two sets of falls, one above the other which, although small, are picturesque and often photographed. The Lilydale Falls Campground and picnic reserve have amenities including fireplaces, toilets, water and showers. A charge is made for showers, caravan power connection,s and campsites. The Lilydale Falls campground has a playground, picnic shelter, and free firewood making it an attractive free campsite if you are heading towards the East Coast Of Tasmania. There is a grassed area beyond some bollards that is suitable for tent camping only meaning you have to carry your own equipment.
