Located just a few kilometres beyond Springlawn, Bakers Point Campground offers a peaceful coastal camping experience within Narawntapu National Park. Set amongst coastal vegetation and close to the stunning sands of Bakers Beach, this unpowered campground is ideal for caravanners, campervan travellers, tent campers and anyone looking to enjoy one of Tasmania’s best wildlife destinations.
Bakers Point combines spacious campsites, easy beach access and excellent opportunities to spot wombats, Forester kangaroos and abundant birdlife, making it one of the most popular campgrounds in the park.
Location
Bakers Point Campground is located within Narawntapu National Park on Tasmania’s north coast, approximately:
- 25–30 minutes from Port Sorell
- 30 minutes from Devonport
- Around 1 hour 20 minutes from Launceston
The campground is situated approximately 4 km beyond Springlawn Campground and is easily reached via the sealed park road.
Camping Facilities
Bakers Point Campground offers basic but well-maintained facilities suitable for a variety of campers.

Campfires are only permitted in the designated fireplaces. Campers should bring their own pre-cut firewood, and campfires may be prohibited during Total Fire Bans or other seasonal restrictions.
Camping Fees
Current Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service camping fees are:
- Unpowered Sites
- 2 people: $13.00
- Additional adult (18+): $5.00
- Additional child (5–17 years): $2.50
- Family (2 adults and up to 3 children): $16.00
A valid Tasmania National Parks Pass is also required for entry into Narawntapu National Park.
Bookings
Bookings are not possible for individual campers.
Bakers Point Campground operates on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are generally accepted only for large school groups.
If you arrive after the Visitor Centre has closed, you can complete your registration using the self-registration facilities at the Springlawn Visitor Centre. Cash is required for after-hours registration.
Are Pets Allowed – striclty NO
No.
Dogs and other pets are not permitted anywhere within Narawntapu National Park to protect its native wildlife and fragile ecosystems. Approved assistance animals are the only exception.
