Conara roadside stop camping, free campsite between Hobart and Launceston on Midlands Highway in the small town of Conara Tasmania. Best suited for big rigs that are fully self-contained, however, you can camp or stay in a smaller campervan. This free overnight stop is located close to the busy Midlands Highway so can be noisy. The area is quite large and flat, so plenty of room for a number of vehicles. There are toilets, a barbecue, shelter, children’s playground and a picnic table. This location does serve as a stop for people travelling between Launceston and the East Coast of Tasmania including St Mary’s, St Helen’s, Scamander and Coles Bay. If you are looking for an overnight stop between Launceston and Hobart, Conara is an option. However, we recommend you stay at the free roadside stop in nearby Campbell Town. See free camping Campbell Town. It is a much nicer site, and Campbell Town has many services including eateries, improved toilets, petrol, a supermarket, butcher and other smaller speciality shops including Subway.
