Camping Arthurs Lake
Campground Arthurs lake, Pump House Bay Miena Central Highlands Tasmania is named after the pumping station which takes water from Arthur’s Lake to the Great Lake to be used in the Poatina Power Station for power generation in Tasmania. The Pumphouse Bay campsite is very popular with fishermen, who flock to the central highlands of Tasmania to fish the Great Lake, Arthurs Lake, Woods Lake and many others. The Pumphouse Bay camping area has excellent facilities which are provided by Hydro Tasmania, as part of services provided to support local communities in the Central Highlands of Tasmania. The Bothwell Tourism Association is responsible for running this campsite. To book a campsite at the Arthurs Lake campground, Pumphouse Bay call the Bothwell Tourism Association on (03) 6259 4049, 0439 503 211 or 0439 202 436. Fees are payable as a self-registration system upon entering the campground. Camper trailers, tents, campervans, and caravans are all welcome at this site and there is a good amount of room to provide privacy. There is a boat ramp nearby and the campsite itself at Pumphouse Bay Arthurs Lake is located right next to Arthurs Lake which is an operational hydro-power and irrigation storage meaning that water levels can change often. There are septic toilets provided at Pumphouse Bay camping area which are kept clean and tidy, and that have disabled access. There are hot showers – a small fee applies to the showers and laundry. Fires are permitted in the firepots provided unless there is a fire ban in place which can occur during warm summer months in this part of Tassie. This is a well-maintained camping area, that is highly recommended if you enjoy true bush camping or are into trout fishing.
