Camping Lake Augusta
Lake Augusta popular fishing lake central plateau, central highlands close Miena, Liawenee Tasmania free camping suit self-contained camping vehicles only, no facilities. Not suitable tent camping, camping overnight near Lake Augusta boat ramp. NO Dogs allowed. The area is popular with bushwalkers and fishermen, fish for brown and rainbow trout from shore, boat or kayak using fly, lures or bait. A valid Tasmanian fishing license is required for all persons aged 14 years and older. The overnight camping area Lake Augusta is on the right-hand side of the dam wall and is adjacent to the Thousand Lakes Lodge. Lake Augusta is open from the first Saturday in August to the Sunday nearest 3- April each year. This camping area Lake Augusta is really only suited for fishermen or bushwalkers – there are many fishing options in the area and some excellent bushwalks. Popular fishing options in this area include Ada Lagoon, Caters Lakes, Clarence Lagoon, Double Lagoon, East Rocky Lagoon, Emma Tarns First Lagoon, Howes Lagoon Bay, Junction Lake, Lake Ada, Lake Agnes, Lake Baillie, Lake Botsford, Lake Chipman, Lake Dudley, Lake Flora, Lake Kay, Lake Mackenzie, Lake Meston, Lake Paget, Lake Youd, Little Blue Lagoon, O’Dells Lake, Rocky Lagoon, Sandy Lake, Second Lagoon, Talinah Lagoon, Third Lagoon, and Tin Hut Lake.
