Stumpys Bay 2 Campground
Mt William National Park campgrounds, Stumpys Bay Number 2 tent only camping, basic facilities including picnic tables and a toilet only – no water. At Stumpys #2, only tent camping is allowed. To camp in a caravan, campervan, camper-trailer or motorhome you need to stay at Stumpys 1, Stumpys 3 or Stumpys 4 campgrounds Mt William National Park. Dogs are strictly prohibited at Stumpys Bay number 2 campground. There are no fire pots at Stumpys Bay campsite 2; fires are permitted in fuel/gas stoves only and using your own fire pot that you take camping with you. There is no firewood provided and the cutting and collecting of wood is not allowed. Strong winds in this area make campfires unsafe; especially during Summer when it is common to have total fire bans. The price to camp at Stumpys Bay Campground 2 are $13 per night ($50 per week) for one or two people, $5 per night ($20 per week) for extra adults, $2.50 per night ($10 per week) for extra children aged 5-17 years(younger children are free), $16 per night ($70 per week) for a family of two adults and up to 3 children. Fees to camp at Stumpys Bay can be paid at the Gladstone Store; otherwise, all camping at Stumpys Bay must be paid at Stumpys Bay 1 campground. A ranger patrols the area to check that fees have been paid. In addition to camping fees, you must have a valid Tasmanian National Parks and Wildlife Pass. A single day pass will cost $24 per vehicle (correct as at 1/2/2019); alternatively, you can purchase an 8-week pass that can be used at all Tasmania’s National Parks for AUD$60. Generators are not permitted at Stumpys Bay 2 campground.
